In a previous post, I have sought to give some of my interactions and history with the Calvinistic thought process and teachings.
Comments in a few of the previous posts made claim that Dr. Flowers was a heretic and was espousing a man centered teaching.
Of course, some (if not most) of the comments were reactionary, condescending and derogatory, with a bit of judgement and condemnation thrown in for good measure. And some were gracious, seasoned with a bit of salt, which is a preferred method according to Paul.
Colossians 4:6
Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
Find the following clip, which has Dr. Flowers agree that he is espousing a man-centered doctrine
I do hope you will consider the teaching with an open mind.

Paul, your comments on how Leighton Flowers commits the fallacy of equivocation in his use of “man centered”is spot on the issue. The rules were set before his debate with Dr White. The rules stated that they were to exegete verse by verse in Romans 9. Leighton did not follow the plan which was noted by Dr. White. I’m sure that was frustrating for Dr White and the congregation listening to them for guidance. What is sad is there are 2 Gods being portrayed; one god that is subjected to man’s will or freedom to choose the true God; (which frankly makes no sense to me considering God is omniscient; and the Bible says he can’t choose on his own; being spiritually dead) and a God that controls His creation down to the smallest particle. I’m glad you point out the false versus the True and the incompatibility of believing both; one is everlasting life John 17:3 and one is not a reflection of having everlasting life. From my assessment of scripture, the person that inherently chooses (if that were even possible) the true God while someone else inherently does not, the first person that chose the true God based on his inherent personal ability would have been created meritoriously and the other would not have been created meritoriously; since God creates in omniscience …. God says he will not share His glory with any idol The Bible says in John 3:27 … A man is able to receive nothing if it is not given to him from heaven… why don’t free willers believe that? Instead they think like The serpent “ You will be like God” “knowing” Going verse by verse in Roman 9 explains who is in control
God not Natural Spiritually Dead Man If Adam and Eve didn’t have free will, how can a spiritually dead man have “free will”

I should make it clear normally Sovereign Grace of God teaching uses “ man centered” as doctrine to describe the “free will” Sovereign Man doctrine but the “free will” doctrine teacher decided to equivocate on the words “ man centered” to make you think “free will” is not man centered doctrine but they ignore What God said I will have mercy on whom I will or the Potter has the right over the clay to MAKE a vessel of mercy and MAKE a vessel fitted out for destruction where is “free will” or freedom from God in that statement ? Eve didn’t trust God’s word and Natural Man doesn’t trust it either because it doesn’t fit their reasoning of sounding or looking good. Bottom line they don’t trust what they are reading.

Everyone should listen to the White/Leighton FULL debate and then listen to any short snippets they want. Leighton completely dismisses the charges of teaching “man centered” doctrine which is to say that his doctrine focuses on “man” and what abilities man has to believe the Gospel outside of regeneration. He then twists the argument against him by saying he is teaching “man-centered” doctrine based on Jesus the man. He very well knows that the charge against him is that he is teaching “fallen man-centered” doctrines which draw glory to fallen mans ability (which is really a myth because man has no ability to save himself nor does he have any ability to believe prior to regeneration).
Anyone who listens to the full debate will understand Dr Whites argument against Leighton. Leighton must defer at this point because he stands guilty as charged on stage in a fully moderated debate. Leighton was way out of his league and should never have taken on Dr White in this debate. Leighton was pulverized and he knows it. He is so worried about his ego and staying respected by his fan base that he is posting 1-2 minute unbiblical refutations to Dr Whites sound exegesis during the debate in order to do this. Sad, that he is still unwilling to surrender his “man-centered” doctrines and when he is being charged with “man-centered” doctrines it means “fallen man-centered” doctrines. As clearly stated in the Scriptures below we see that Leighton is NOT listening to apostle Paul in Romans 9 and because of this, the apostle John tells us that we know that Leighton does NOT know God and we know that he is of the spirit of error. Furthermore, Paul points out that he is preaching UN-Sound teaching, the people accumulating for themselves teachers like him to suit their own passions to have their itching ears scratched with “free-will” – the “fallen man-centered doctrine.” In the like manner these same people turn away from listening to the truth of “sovereign unconditional election” taught and preached by apostolic authority and wander off into myths.
“For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.”
2 Timothy 4:3-4 ESV
And
“We are from God (apostolic authority). Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”
1 John 4:6 ESV
Those who refuse to listen to apostolic authority (sovereign unconditional election by God alone) are guilty of sin and will die in their sin if they do not repent and believe the Spirit of truth as revealed in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His apostles.
